Frequently Asked Questions

Tattoos

Do tattoos hurt?
How long does a tattoo take to heal?

Roughly a month to 6 weeks time. It depends on how well you take care of it, whilst age can also be a contributing factor.

Yes, but focus more on the artwork than the pain. Beauty is pain :)

How do I take care of a new tattoo?

Our artist will wrap you up with cling film once it's done. Detailed care information will be provided by our artist verbally and in a written aftercare form. Please use recommended aftercare products suggested by our artists. A pH neutral soap and tattoo cream are best!

Do I need to leave a deposit to schedule an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome and do not require a deposit, though they are subject to the availability of artists on the day. In order to secure an allotted appointment, a deposit will be required. The deposit amount varies according to the tattoo design/size, will be non-refundable and non-transferable, and will be deducted from the final cost of the tattoo. We need 7 days notice of any changes to avoid a loss of deposit.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Our minimum charge is £80, but the final cost is dependent on various factors. We estimate charges based on tattoo time, drawing time, size, style, detail, skin elasticity, placement on the body and the individual artist's level of experience. Upon making an enquiry, our artists will ask the relevant questions to give the most accurate quote and ensure you know what you can expect to pay for the tattoo.

What form of payment do we accept?

Deposits can be paid via bank transfer or cash in person. The remainder is to be paid in cash on the day of the appointment.

What do I need to prepare for my tattoo appointment?
  • Please bring a valid photo ID with you to the appointment (passport, provisional or drivers licence, or citizen card).

  • Please bring your deposit card or proof of a paid deposit to the appointment.

  • Eat well before your tattoo appointment and bring a drink or snack.

  • Please make sure you are happy with the design before tattooing begins.

  • Have a good sleep before your session.

  • Exfoliate and moisturize the tattoo area a week prior to the session.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?

You must be 18 or older to get a tattoo. It is against the law to tattoo a minor, even with parental consent.

Piercings

Do piercings hurt?
How old do I need to be to get piercings?

For the majority of the piercings we offer you need to be 14+ with a parent or legal guardian's consent. Once you are 16+ you can then legally consent to the majority of piercings by yourself. All genital, dermal and surface piercings require you to be 18+. A full list of the piercings we offer, as well as the prices and age requirements, can be found on the piercings page of this site.

The pain of a piercing really depends on the person getting pierced. If you're someone that has a high pain tolerance then probably not as much. But usually the pain of piercings is a quick pinch (maybe a scratchy sting) for a few seconds and then the pain is gone.

Is the equipment clean?

All of our equipment (including jewellery) has gone through a 2-step sterilisation process that involves going through an ultrasonic and an autoclave. We will only use sterile and disposable needles for every piercing. We NEVER re-use needles!

How do I look after my piercings?

We will walk you through the piercing aftercare once we have done the piercing and we will also give you a written aftercare form, but the general idea is clean the area 3 times a day with saline for the first 10 days. After the 10 days, clean 1-2 times a day with saline for the rest of the healing period.

What is the piercing jewellery made out of?

The majority of our jewellery is made from implant grade titanium Grade 23 or implant grade surgical steel Grade 316L. We also have a selection of 9ct and 14ct gold jewellery.

What do I have to bring to the appointment?

We ask you to bring a physical, valid form of photo ID such as a Passport, Drivers (or Provisional licence) or a Citizens card. If consent from a parent or legal guardian is required (see our price list page for details), both the child and the accompanying adult must bring ID (in cases where the parent/legal guardian do not have the same surname, we will additionally require the birth certificate to demonstrate proof of relation).

How do I prepare for my piercing appointment?

We ask you to prepare for your appointment by keeping the area clean and avoid any makeup or fake tanning products on the area. We also ask that you eat before your appointment as this will help keep your blood sugar levels stable so there is less chance of dizziness and fainting.
